6 Ways to Verify If a Steroid Is Fake

Fake steroids have constantly invaded the market for anabolic steroids, but now the situation seems worse than ever. If counterfeited steroids were easy to spot by their poor appearance a decade ago, nowadays, only a well-trained eye can see the difference. And even such persons fail sometimes.

This is because counterfeiting labs use sophisticated printing and equipment equal to those genuine drug companies use. As a result, the home of fake steroid manufacturers brings their fake steroid products to the market that are perfect copies of genuine ones, making detection almost impossible.

How to deal with sophisticated fakes? How do you make a difference and not fall into the trap of those whose only concern is making a quick buck? And if you say that money is not a problem, then your health surely is. Because fake steroid brands might be contaminated or even, in the worst cases, contain an entirely other hormone than the one specified on the label, increasing the risk of damaging your health.

We’ve researched the subject of spotting fake steroids and come up with several common ways to say if a product is genuine or not.

Please note that even applying these methods, you can not say for 100% that the asteroid is genuine. There is no at-home detection method that can offer you this certainty. But they will help you understand if there is something wrong with your gear and that it is better to use it more cautiously.

Check the Batch Number and Expiration Date:

Take some time and check the packaging in detail because here’s where counterfeiters mess up most of the time. Let’s start with the fact that each amp or pill in plastic blisters should have a unique batch number. Secondly, the batch and expiration date should not be printed in the same process but added later.

Stamping or computing labeling of the boxes should be done individually, but counterfeiters do the whole process simultaneously because it costs money and takes time. Use a simple microscope to check whether the batch number and expiration date were added at the time of production and not at the same time with box printing.

Check Holograms or Logo:

Actual companies use holograms or safety stickers to help you identify the legitimacy of every product you buy. All vials or tablet packs have a hologram, as in the picture below, and an identification number you can check on the company’s website. Look for the in-build logo name of the company.

Check The Seals:

Real labs carefully seal steroid tablets to keep out any bacteria or air. In the case of fake steroid brands, there can be no seal! However, if there is a seal, closely inspecting it will help you identify signs of fakeness. First, because most counterfeiters use hand-handled equipment, the top of the seals is usually very loose, being very easy to remove.

If so, then you have in your hand a fake product. More than this, absolute sealing should have proper edges and be uniformly attached. Also, it should have the brand's name written, as seen in the picture below.

Check The Vials and Blister Packs Appearance:

There are several sites to pay attention to when inspecting an amp for fake signs. The most important of them are:

  • amp’s head shape
  • amp’s neck size
  • glass thickness
  • the quality of writing on the amps
  • flat bottom versus concave in

Do a Google image search to find pictures of original vials and then compare labeling components and the aspect of the amp with what you have. Also, always keep old vials/bottles for comparison.

When it comes to tablets, most products of natural pharmaceuticals come in blister packs. Counterfeiters do use to sell tablets in bottles as the production process is cheaper, and so is shipping. Be very careful when choosing to buy such types of anabolic steroids.

This doesn’t mean push-through pills are not at risk of being fake. Signs such as vague writing, poor sealing, no expiration date, and lot numbers on each blister should make you double-check the product’s authenticity.

Do a Blood Check Before and During The Cycle:

When none of the above ways is of help, getting a blood check done after 6 weeks of cycling to see your levels is the best way to say if your steroid is genuine.

If you don’t want to mess with a blood test, keep a close eye on changes in your body after 6 weeks of using (the minimum frame time needed for steroids to kick in). If there are no improvements or side effects, then there is a big chance that you are taking a fake product.

Try Test Kits For AAS:

These test kits are designed to identify the substances in vials and tablets. It works by adding small amounts of gear to the vials, seeing the color it turns into, and then comparing it with the color table. Don’t be too excited. It’s not as good as it seems at first glance.

The main problem with these tests is that they show the presence of a hormone but not its dosage. In other words, if there is 95% of oil and only 5% of hormones, it will be considered legit. To make things even worse, understanding the color table takes time and practice, making you pissed off.

Why Most Fake Steroids Are Cheap

Fake steroids are often sold at a lower price and can be dangerous if used. These fake steroids have become a severe problem in the world of bodybuilding. Most fake steroids are cheap because they are made with low-quality ingredients and are not regulated by any government agency.

They also lack the safety measures taken by legitimate steroid manufacturers. This means that users of these products can be exposed to dangerous side effects, and their health could be at risk. As a result, bodybuilders need to understand why most fake steroids are cheap so they can avoid them and use only safe, legitimate products.

There is no government standard for quality in bodybuilding supplements, so producers can use whatever ingredients they want without concern for safety or consistency. This means that users of these products can be exposed to dangerous side effects, and their health could be at risk.

Another reason fake steroids are cheap is that the producers do not need to adhere to rigorous safety procedures or certification standards like legitimate steroid manufacturers.

Manufacturers of Fake Steroids

Manufacturers of fake steroids can produce them quickly and cheaply, knowing there is little chance of them causing harm. Fake steroids are also cheaper because they are made in countries with no tax laws on steroid manufacturing and sale.

Some pharmaceutical companies in China produce fake anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS) and sell them to buyers in Asia, Africa, and Latin America under the guise of unapproved or unknown drugs.

This makes it easier for people to access these drugs without having to go through the rigors that come with getting a legitimate prescription for AAS; for example, those on government assistance can receive them at no cost, or those who are uninsured can only pay a fraction of what the drugs would usually cost.

Trenbolone is also not often counterfeited because it has a very unpleasant taste that is easily detected, and it takes a large batch to make just one milligram of product. The best way to detect trenbolone in an unknown substance is to test it on animals or in an FDA-approved laboratory. Other common counterfeited steroids include stanozolol, oxandrolone, boldenone, and Winstrol.
